Market Evening Wrap 8th Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 46,383.19pts with a gap of 545.84pts. Later on index posted a high of 46,432.39pts where a net change of 595.04pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,849.07pts with net change of -988.28pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,051.05pts with net change of -786.30pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 459.82 million shares with net change of 142.59 million shares or 44.95% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 235.65 million shares with net change of 67.57 million shares or 40.20%. ANL, UNITY and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 48.20, 45.36 and 35.36 and net price change of 2.59, 2.96 and -0.02 percent respectively.

Today, 360 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 78 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 12 companies closed with no change but 270 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. SAPT, IDYM and PAKT lead the price gainers with net price change of 63.65, 51.63 and 35.90 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side INDU, PMPK and BATA remained top three price losers with net price change of -75.73, -54.33 and -49.98 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, TEXTILE COMPOSITE and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 78.81, 53.24 and 47.96 million shares respectively. TOBACCO, CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND and REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT TRUST sectors have supported index by adding 6.26, 1.85 and 0.22 points, while on the other side CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -240.19, -132.72 and -78.78 points respectively.
