Market Evening Wrap 8th May. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 33,420.09pts with a gap of 115.93pts. Later on index posted a high of 33,501.30pts where a net change of 197.14pts was recorded.While a day low of 33,159.05pts with net chage of -145.11pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 33,267.69pts with net chage of -36.47pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 88.01 million shares with net change of -87.89 million shares or -49.97% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 62.92 million shares with net change of -65.62 million shares or -51.05%. UNITY, HASCOL and MLCF remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 9.29, 5.82 and 5.54 and net price change of 3.23, -0.07 and 0.12 percent respectively.

Today, 302 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 134 out of these closed with net positive price change while 25 closed with no change but 143 companies closed with net negative price change. UPFL, NESTLE and SAPT lead the price gainers with net price change of 390.00, 262.50 and 60.00 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side ICI, INDU and RMPL remained top three price losers with net price change of -39.09, -30.19 and -20.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 15.77, 11.35 and 11.11 million shares respectively. OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors have supported index by adding 38.83, 27.72 and 25.67 points, while on the other side COMMERCIAL BANKS, FERTILIZER and CHEMICAL sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -39.12, -15.83 and -10.91 points respectively.
