Market Evening Wrap 8th jul 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,344.58pts with a gap of 96.42pts. Later on index posted a high of 48,053.17pts where a net change of 805.01pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,344.58pts with net change of 96.42pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 48,053.17pts with net change of 805.01pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 475.12 million shares with net change of 64.87 million shares or 15.81% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 187.89 million shares with net change of 30.18 million shares or 19.14%. TPL, WTL and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 30.16, 28.43 and 27.39 and net price change of 7.49, 0.26 and 6.70 percent respectively.

Today, 410 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 279 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 23 companies closed with no change but 108 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. GATI, KHTC and LUCK lead the price gainers with net price change of 35.63, 33.42 and 29.78 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side WYETH, PMPK and POML remained top three price losers with net price change of -45.22, -37.05 and -17.73 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 115.32, 38.08 and 35.83 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CEMENT and COMMERCIAL BANKS sectors have supported index by adding 160.78, 149.78 and 94.20 points, while on the other side TRANSPORT, LEASING COMPANIES and WOOLLEN sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -0.70, -0.54 and -0.04 points respectively.
