Market Evening Wrap 9th April. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 44,883.51pts with a gap of 142.15pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,249.61pts where a net change of 508.25pts was recorded. While a day low of 44,806.56pts with net change of 65.20pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 45,186.48pts with net change of 445.12pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 688.04 million shares with net change of 304.94 million shares or 79.60% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 293.01 million shares with net change of 106.97 million shares or 57.50%. WTL, TELE and BYCO remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 124.48, 60.21 and 50.21 and net price change of 20.17, 9.74 and 5.63 percent respectively.

Today, 370 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 244 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 11 companies closed with no change but 115 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. NESTLE, SRVI and NRL lead the price gainers with net price change of 49.00, 47.13 and 40.35 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side INDU, FIMM and ENGRO remained top three price losers with net price change of -12.47, -11.02 and -9.44 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, REFINERY and CHEMICAL sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 257.36, 90.42 and 49.10 million shares respectively. TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and CEMENT sectors have supported index by adding 146.58, 54.77 and 52.19 points, while on the other side FERTILIZER, Investment and TOBACCO sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -67.94, -22.70 and -0.87 points respectively.
