Market Evening Wrap 9th Aug. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 47,534.53pts with a gap of 44.58pts. Later on index posted a high of 47,625.42pts where a net change of 135.47pts was recorded. While a day low of 47,053.86pts with net change of -436.09pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 47,123.62pts with net change of -366.33pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 337.07 million shares with net change of -162.44 million shares or -32.52% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 107.17 million shares with net change of -29.90 million shares or -21.81%. WTL, FFL and GGL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 42.23, 17.40 and 17.33 and net price change of -3.72, -7.45 and -7.39 percent respectively.

Today, 382 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 70 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 23 companies closed with no change but 289 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. WYETH, NESTLE and SCL lead the price gainers with net price change of 47.19, 45.00 and 26.77 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side COLG, HINO and SFL remained top three price losers with net price change of -100.00, -19.82 and -19.00 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, COMMERCIAL BANKS and FOOD & PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 85.28, 31.99 and 30.48 million shares respectively. AUTOMOBILE PARTS & ACCESSORIES, REFINERY and AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLER sectors have supported index by adding 4.34, 3.56 and 1.65 points, while on the other side CEMENT, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -76.23, -64.07 and -27.24 points respectively.
