Market Evening Wrap 9th Mar. 2021

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 45,013.52pts with a gap of -37.53pts. Later on index posted a high of 45,129.55pts where a net change of 78.50pts was recorded. While a day low of 43,946.30pts with net change of -1,104.75pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 44,222.91pts with net change of -828.14pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 492.29 million shares with net change of 32.46 million shares or 7.06% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also settled at 231.67 million shares with net change of -3.98 million shares or -1.69%. GGL, UNITY and TRG remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 41.23, 33.33 and 25.52 and net price change of 6.48, -6.75 and -5.91 percent respectively.

Today, 374 companies participated in trading at PSX floor, 55 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 18 companies closed with no change but 301 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. BATA, SFL and JLICL lead the price gainers with net price change of 102.83, 43.12 and 14.45 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side NESTLE, SUTM and SAPT remained top three price losers with net price change of -163.33, -87.50 and -78.45 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, CHEMICAL and CEMENT sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 77.20, 51.00 and 48.60 million shares respectively. TOBACCO, CLOSE - END MUTUAL FUND and REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT TRUST sectors have supported index by adding 6.26, 1.85 and 0.22 points, while on the other side CEMENT, COMMERCIAL BANKS and POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -240.19, -132.72 and -78.78 points respectively.
