Market Evening Wrap 9th Sep. 2020

The Benchmark KSE100 index opened at 41,762.91pts with a gap of -222.28pts. Later on index posted a high of 42,196.17pts where a net change of 210.98pts was recorded.While a day low of 41,610.73pts with net chage of -374.46pts was witnessed during the day. While session suspended at 42,022.25pts with net chage of 37.06pts.

Trading volume at PSX floor settled at 707.01 million shares with net change of -177.35 million shares or -20.05% on DoD basis. While trading volume of KSE100 listed companies also setteld at 399.12 million shares with net change of -115.76 million shares or -22.48%. HASCOL, PTC and PIBTL remained top three volume leaders with net trading volume of 75.62, 63.04 and 57.24 and net price change of -1.21, 9.21 and 1.15 percent respectively.

Today,363 companies participated in trading at PSX floor and 194 out of these closed with net positive price change, while 22 companies closed with no change but 147 companies closed with net negative price change at day end. NESTLE, ILTM and JLICL lead the price gainers with net price change of 96.70, 67.79 and 35.51 Pkr/share respectively. While on the other side UPFL, COLG and SFL remained top three price losers with net price change of -359.00, -54.57 and -39.99 Pkr/share respectively.

Today TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION, OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES and REFINERY sectors remained top three volume leading sectors with net trading volume of 172.70, 83.23 and 64.87 million shares respectively. COMMERCIAL BANKS, TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATION and INSURANCE sectors have supported index by adding 53.32, 44.46 and 27.30 points, while on the other side OIL & GAS EXPLORATION COMPANIES, POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION and OIL & GAS MARKETING COMPANIES sectors have dragged index towards negative zone by -59.59, -24.96 and -22.96 points respectively.
